gRAnDpARENt'S dAY

It's been a month since we (along with about 20 others) were guests of honor for Grandparents Day in Ellie's second grade classroom at Sandstone Elementary. We weren't the oldest, thank goodness (there was a 92 year old great grandma) and I'm pretty sure we weren't the youngest (some of them looked young enough to be the parents). But I do think we deserve a prize for having the cutest grandkid (plus being the grandparents who traveled the farthest).

Because we went to Emma's GPD last year, we're old pros at this. We'll let you in on all the secrets.

1) Get there early enough to get a front row seat for the program. You don't want to miss the best song: The Library (complex lyrics, catchy tune, lots of action). You get extra credit if you can find Ellie in this picture.



2) Be sure and buy school lunch: pizza, tossed salad, jello, applesauce, orange slices, chocolate milk (yum, yum)


3) Take lots of pictures, but try not to be too obvious.



Both years, my favorite moments were out on the playground. Here's a shot of Emma jumping rope last year. Love her hair and the shadows.


Kent might be a grandpa, but he's always right at home on the elementary playground . I can't wait until Charley's a "Super Second Grader."
