We stayed at a fantastic cabin in Island Park. The kids loved the hot tub, their very own bunk beds, and playing in the basement.

Other than this carved bear at our cabin, the only bears we saw were at the Grizzly and Wolf Center in West Yellowstone.

The best thing about West Yellowstone is it's in Montana--the land of big sky and no sales tax. They have these painted fiberglass bison all around the town--apparently they're symbols of Montana. Did I mention I love Montana?

Speaking of bison, this guy came right up to our car. Kent took the picture out the window, but seriously, he could have reached out and petted him. Bison are ornery.

At the end of the three days, the parents were pooped and ready to go, but it was hard for the kids to say good-bye.

We missed Kurt and Michelle and Lyndsie and Solomon. Hopefully next time they can make it--then it would be just perfect.
